Hello polish lovers!  I have a fun mani to share with you this time.  Have you ever tried the water marble technique?  It is a unique/random look but a challenge to apply.  It has been a few years since I have attempted one.  WHY you ask; OoOoO it has always been a hit or miss for me and it’s MESSY!!  BUT I got this amazing latex barrier stuff off amazon and this makes a water marble 90% easier!  No more messy tape to wrestle.

So I got brave put on a latex barrier on my cuticles and water marbled my nails.

Colors Used:   I used Sally Hansen’s Petal Pusher Insta Dri for undies.

Marble colors all Sinful Colors:

Shock and Awe; blurple cream

Neptune; blurple cream with silver shimmer

Sweet Tooth; lilac cream

Let me go; light purple pearl

I did some drop, drop, swirl, dip and poof I had myself a pretty good looking water marble.  And clean up was a breeze.

For the grand finale I thew on some holo Northern Lights top coat made by Out the Door.

I Love love love how this turned out.

I’m calling it Sinful Shades of Purple Water Marble.

Happy Spring!  For the start of spring I needed a little sunshine on my nails.  Zoya Sunshine that is.  Zoya Sunshine is an amazing navy blue Pixie Dust.  Sunshine dries with a matte textured glittery finish.  This color was perfect for me to throw on before I headed out of town for a few days.  It went on perfectly and dried super fast and if you prefer the matte finish no top coat is needed.  I wore this for three days with no top coat and no chips.  Oh pixie dust how I love thee!!

Zoya Pixie Dust Sunshine

Once I got home from my trip I decided to keep Zoya Pixie Dust Sunshine on my nails for a few more days so I added my Out the Door Northern Lights Silver Hologram top coat.  Adding this holo glitter top coat to Sunshine took this polish from fabulous to glamorous.  I simply could not stop staring at my nails.  What a beauty!

Happy Hump day!
So it has been cold and rainy here in Iowa all week. It’s depressing. I need some 70 degree days with sun in my life.
This dreary weather inspired last nights manicure.
I needed some bright color in my day. Not too much but just a little.
First I started with a nude color nail, Sally Hansen insta-dri Sand Storm. This is a perfect base for nail art, it dries nice and fast.
Then I took my trusty makeup sponge and added two colors onto the bottom half of my nails.
In the middle part I used China Glaze Fast Track. Fast Track is a darker sand color with a gold shimmer. I choose this color to help blend together my other two colors, to make the transition less harsh.
For the tips I wanted a bright neon like color; so I used SquareHue Collins Avenue from the 06.13 SoBe collection. Collins Avenue is a bright neon like coral color. It’s so awesome!!!!! This color against the sand color is so fab.
Then to finish off this look I had to add some extra glam; Out the Door Northern Lights a hologram fine glitter top coat.

I couldn’t be happier with how these turned out, just amazing.
Just wish I had some sun to get you a good picture of it. The coral neon does slightly freak out my camera so it doesn’t quite look as bright as it really is in my photos but you get the idea.

What do you think of the nude and neon? I have seen it several times from random pinners, so glad I finally tried this look.
It has me dreaming of summer days.

In the spirit of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi I have a very unique skittle manicure to share with you.
I wanted to do something fun with red, white and blue GO USA; plus the medal colors gold, silver and bronze.
Since all four fingers are different I am just going to list out what I did to create the look:
Thumb and Index fingers: these are my medal fingers. I did a tri color sponge gradient. Color closest to cuticle is the gold China Glaze Twenty-Four K, middle is the silver Julep Harley, tips are the bronze Julep Dakota. I had to add some sparkle by using my Out the Door silver hologram topcoat. Then using Konad special black polish I stamped on a multi circle image from BM-020 plate.
Middle fingers: SquareHue Patriot electric blue color. I added some fun stars using Konad white stamping polish and BM-H25.
Ring fingers: SquareHue Fifth Avenue red. Love this red, one of my favorites. I added stripes using Konad white stamping polish and BM-022.
Pinky fingers: SquareHue Fifth Avenue red as a base then I added some fun glitter Julep America. America is packed full of red, blue and silver glitters and you may find some random silver stars in there as well.
This Olympic manicure is very busy. But I think it is super fun in the spirit of the games.
What is your favorite winter game to watch? I love the ice skating and the snowboarding.
Have a great start to your week.

Hey Polish lovers!!
I have more blue ombre nails to share with you tonight; a different kind of ombre then my last diary post. A teal blue sponge gradient ombre. I love this type of sponging technique. The worst part of this technique is the clean up, otherwise easy breezy.

So I just started with some underwear. A base of the lightest color helps if you miss a spot when sponging on all of your colors. I picked SquareHue Times Square a silver creme holographic polish from the 12.13 New York Hue Collection.
Once my underwear dried, time to sponge on my gradient colors.
Colors used:
Darkest Teal China Glaze Exotic Encounters
Medium Teal Shade Square Hue Nantucket a HiGloss creme from the 11.13 Coastal Collection
Lighter Teal China Glaze For Audrey
Lightest color is the same as my base color SquareHue Times Square
On my pinky, ring and thumb I sponged darkest to lightest towards the tip. On my ring and middle fingers I did the opposite with the darkest color on the tips.
Once I achieved the desired coverage and that dried. I just had to add some extra sparkle…you know JUST IN CASE the sun comes out 🙂
So I slapped on some of my Out the Door Northern Lights silver hologram glitter top coat, ahhhhhhmazing!!!
I think this is a fun look. What do you think of flipping around the gradient on just a few nails? Keeps things interesting right?

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #229

It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas…everywhere you go.
It’s snowing on my wordpress page and I have candy cane nails. How much more Christmas can you get 😉
These candy cane nails were a bit of a challenge at first. I got a new stamper from amazon…you know the XL squishy stamp. Boy do you really have to practice practice practice to get no where near perfect. But I can see the potential with this stamper so I will not give up.
To achieve this look I first started with white underwear; Salon Perfect’s Sugar Cube.
Once that dried I added my new SquareHue pearl white called broadway. This is a sheer pearl white, just perfect for that candy look.
After my whites completely dried I found my candy cane stripes. BM-423 from the bundle monster holiday plate collection.
I have never stamped on my candy cane stripes I have always used the tape method, so this was all new to me. Less prep time that is for sure.
For my stamps I used my other new SquareHue polish fifth avenue a lovely high gloss creme RED. I love this red, can’t wait to play with this more, in fact I also put it on my toes.
The December SquareHue box is amazing. I can’t praise this company enough I love every single box I have bought. This is my 12th month and I don’t intend on stopping my subscription any time soon. I just love the element of surprise every month.

And finally to add some sparkle on the candy cane nails I applied my out the door hologram silver top coat. This just sets off the whole look. I am really liking this candy mani.
What do you think…stamps or tape. I will post a link of my past taped candy canes:

Boy have I come a long way…guess clean up was optional in 2011, lol!!!

I vote stamps with a little stamping practice my candy canes should be closer to perfect next year!!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤
