Nail Diary #9

Friday November 25th 2011
Even though all the Christmas decorations were put up today…it is still Nov. so I am not quite ready to start the month of Christmas nails just yet. I got a new crackle the other day, yes another(yes I quite possibly might need meetings)…CG “cracked medallion”. It is so pretty…copper metallic. I said this before but the CG metallics crack much better 4 me. The base coat I used is an Ulta polish…”up real dawn”. Results are gorg. I love it!!

Wednesday November 23rd 2011
No time to redo nails 2night plus I wanted to keep my “fall” look.
Kept china glaze “street chic”, kind of a brown/taupe. Also had OPI’s “nutcracker sweet, a glitter top coat– but put it on tips only for a dramatic effect…. But just to take it up a notch for the holiday I added a new polish I got at Sally’s today CG “Blonde bombshell.” Omgosh I love this glitter…it is a must have!!! It has both lil n big glitters, it SO rocks!!!!!

Nails for the next few days:
Decided to go with china glaze “street chic”. It’s a pretty “fall” color. Kind of a brown/taupe. But then I thought why not step it up and add some fun. Went with OPI’s “nutcracker sweet, a glitter top coat– but put it on tips only for a dramatic effect…. What do u think weak or chic?!?! :o)

So bored with Orly’s iron butterfly from wednesday’s mani but instead of completely redoing it I just modified it to get me by til Sunday night. Kept the iron butterfly n added OPI’s “more time for me” on the tips. Added a fresh coat of Essie’s matte about u and finished- new look complete. Not my fav but different n sometimes different is good 🙂

Time to redo mani again. Today’s mani was inspired by a fellow blogger’s photo. I saw it and knew right away I’d have to try it.
I only have one matte nail polish in my collection. Orly’s “iron butterfly”. Not my first choice in color as October kind of burnt me out on blacks… But my need to try this look out won so “iron butterfly” matte will have to do 4 now. Trust me I will be doing this mani style again. Basically all I did was nail envy first, matte base next.  Coat 3 was a clear top cost just to help with chipping. Coat 4 was the 2nd coat of matte polish … Then the tips are just my seche vite top coat (freehanded). It totally looks like a different polish but it’s not, what a great idea. The finished look is simple n gorg!! I can’t wait to get a less metallic matte and try this again!!

Sunday November 13th 2011
So happy. Today my husband surprised me with a new CG crackle. So of course I had to try it out. My polish from Wednesday was still looking good– OPIs ” funky dunky” so I decided to freshen it up by adding another coat then adding the crackle “tarnished gold”. I have to say I love the metallic crackle. It seems to crack a lot better than the solid colors.
Next I want to find a teal metallic crackle…maybe next week.
