Nail Diary #411

November 16, 2016

A few weeks back I had some time to kill so I attempted to water marble.  Colors I marbled are for a fun fall look are:

  • VINTAGE OPI Burning Love; a metallic orange
  • Finger Paints Fall-ing for you; a metallic teal
  • Square Hue Baby,Baby,Baby; a metallic grape (which appears lighter in the marble)
  • Square Hue Sandstone; a shimmery duo pink/gold hue
  • My undies is Sally Hansen Petal Pusher; a nude pink

To simplify the marble process I used a Pueen Latex tape barrier…ahhhhhhMazing!  Total time saver.  I feel like my marble turned out ahhhhh so so.  I have done worse; I have also done better.  I guess I need to keep practicing; with the latex barrier I may be so inclined to do so.

I had a lot of fun creating this look.  This is another 3:2 mani.  For my 3 I used Sinful Colors Demin n Bling KARGO.  This is a textured blue denim polish which dries matte ❤ I did use a clear top coat on my pinky for some shine.

For my 2 I created some dry marble decals on my bundle monster mat.  Used SC Kargo and SC Trend Matters Angel Buttercup.

Once my decals dried using a clear top coat I applied the decals to my nails, trimmed access and cleaned up with a small paint brush and acetone.  Love this technique; I have not mastered the water marble so this is an easy way to get that look without all the hassle and headache.

I really love the final result ❤  Still drool over matte textured polishes 🙂

Hello November goodbye October.  I totally missed the end of October mani’s.  I missed about three Halloween festive nail looks.  I think in the next week or so I will do a throw back to October entry, lol.

Tonight I have a beautiful fall like water marble to share with you.  I really love this color combo.

My underwear color is China Glaze Innocence a pale nude pink perfect for a blank canvas.

Colors in my marble are:

OPI NYPD Beat a deep beat red and Burning Love a shimmering gold orange.

OPI Nicole colors Here we Kome A-Karoling a deep plum purple, Keeping up with Santa a foil like red and Deck the Dolls a metallic teal.

The effect is oh la la love this!!  My favorite colors are Burning Love and Deck the Dolls!!

Enjoy.  And if you haven’t tried water marbling I suggest you do try it, it is so fun to create new looks with different random colors.  It takes some practice and patience but once you master it you will be so happy!

October 28, 2015

Happy Hump day!  Yay, half way to the weekend and not too mention just a couple days away from Halloween.  I am just a little behind sharing my Halloween nails with you all.  So I think I am going to have to share a mani every day until Halloween.  So, sorry in advance for Halloween nail overload; this what happens when you procrastinate and then all the sudden October is almost over.

This one is super fun.  I have been having fun trying to perfect my water marbling skills.  This is a glow in the dark spooky marble.

Colors used are:  My base is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri white OMGhost.  Which I am totally freaked out because this is my favorite underwear for nail art and the bottle is almost empty, ECK!!!!  Why is it so hard to find quick dry whites?  #NAILPOLISHPROBS!  Anyhow OMGhost was the base for Sinful Colors Glow in the Dark, and yep that is the name how original huh lol.

My marble colors are:  Wet n Wild green Stand the test of lime, Wet n Wild orange The Clock strikes Orange and Sinful Colors dark purple Let’s Talk.  Turned out pretty cool; super stoked that I am getting better with each marble!

Of course I had to stamp it:

GITD Halloween nails

I added a Trick or Treat image from Messy Mansion plate MM22 and some CREEPY eyes from bundle monster plate BM-H08.

I love how these turned out.

Funny story I did them just in time for the haunted house we went to a few weeks ago.  As I was walking through the black light room I could not stop staring at my glowing talons!!  HAHA

Hello polish lovers!  I hope you are all having a fabulous pre fall weekend.  It is absolutely beautiful in Iowa this weekend.  Yesterday we got out to ride the four wheeler all day; so much fun.

Between parenting, working, exercise, and atv riding I am so behind on blogging my nails.  Oh my I think I am like five to six manicures behind.  I am lucky to get my nails painted let alone sharing them with you guys.  A few Sundays ago I had some time on my hands so I decided to try my hand at water marbling.  I must say water Marbling is 100% easier with the amazing latex barrier; it really makes clean up time a lot shorter.  With that being said water marbling is still by far the most challenging polish technique for me.  This time it wasn’t perfect but then again it wasn’t horrible either.  Once the weather stays cooler I will try practicing this technique a little more.

How I got this look:

Base color on all nails Maybelline Color Show Lavender Lustre.  This is a holo purple silver polish.

I used cheap polishes polish this time for my marble; Wet n Wild Toxic Apple a dark metallic blur-purple and Pure Ice sheer shimmer finishes Bedtime(magenta) and Busted(lilac/pink).  I just alternated the colors in my room temp cup of water swirl and dip.

I can’t wait to have the time to try more water marbles.  I think it will be fun to do some Halloween or fall color combos.

Have a great week!!

Hello polish lovers!  I have a fun mani to share with you this time.  Have you ever tried the water marble technique?  It is a unique/random look but a challenge to apply.  It has been a few years since I have attempted one.  WHY you ask; OoOoO it has always been a hit or miss for me and it’s MESSY!!  BUT I got this amazing latex barrier stuff off amazon and this makes a water marble 90% easier!  No more messy tape to wrestle.

So I got brave put on a latex barrier on my cuticles and water marbled my nails.

Colors Used:   I used Sally Hansen’s Petal Pusher Insta Dri for undies.

Marble colors all Sinful Colors:

Shock and Awe; blurple cream

Neptune; blurple cream with silver shimmer

Sweet Tooth; lilac cream

Let me go; light purple pearl

I did some drop, drop, swirl, dip and poof I had myself a pretty good looking water marble.  And clean up was a breeze.

For the grand finale I thew on some holo Northern Lights top coat made by Out the Door.

I Love love love how this turned out.

I’m calling it Sinful Shades of Purple Water Marble.
