Nail Diary #407

October 12, 2016

Just in time for October here is some creepy tree nails.  This mani reminds me of my favorite Halloween movie, The Blair Witch.

Started with Square Hue Parizska as my base, this is a med grey polish with gold glitter bits ❤

Then I took Zoya Levi a gold Pixie Dust and sponged it on the tips.

My creepy tree is stamped on using Pueen Halloween Party 01 plate.

LOVE – LOVE – LOVE how these turned out.

This is a perfect mani if you are having a hard time saying goodbye to summer.

I finally ordered Zoya summer 2016 NEON collection.  YAY!  Took my long enough but I got them on a BOGO sale, SCORE!

ZOYA BOGO haul

This mani started with white undies of course as recommended for all neon polish to make them really POP.  Then using my makeup sponge I applied a Zoya neon and nude polish to get this look.  My neon is called Bisca and my nude is Cala.

I really love a nude nail with a pop of color on the tips.  It’s like a french with a TWIST or as I say “Funky French”.

What do you think would you do this combo?

The nail of the day “hues” are absolutely gorgeous.

To get this look I used a sponge to apply and blend two colors.  The color closest to the cuticle is Square Hue Drop Out and the tip color is Watergate.  These are both duo chrome colors so I thought they would look really great as a sponge gradient.  Watergate is purple with blue flash and Drop out is blue with purple flash.  They almost match too much, in some light you almost could not tell that I had two colors on.  But regardless both of these colors are gorgeous, showstoppers.

Oh well my one complaint is the SHRINK **gasp** ugh nothing worse than spending all that time and your tips shrink, super annoying. For that very reason I didn’t get to wear this fab combo too long, my nail OCD just wouldn’t allow it.  But if you look beyond the dreaded SHRINK on the tips this combo is pretty rad.

Nail Diary #341

Two weeks since my last post, wow must be a record.  But don’t worry I have been painting my nails, a girl can’t run around with naked nails.  I just took a mini blogging break.  Every now and then I wonder to myself why I blog all my manicures, but my passion for nail polish rears it head and I have the need to share my outrageous passion for nail polish.  Not too mention it is fun for me to look back on all my past nail creations.

This one I did a few weeks ago, the week before mother’s day.  When I got my May 1940 Square Hue nail polish I knew I had to play with Sorcerer’s Hat right away.    Sorcerer’s Hat is a colbalt blue metallic shimmer.  It is so pretty.  I ended up with a 3:2 manicure meaning on three nails I had one design and the other two another.  I wanted so sparkle so I used Zoya Nori on my two middle nails.  Nori is not new to this blog I have played with this color before; this magical blue holo pixie dust is amazing and it looks great with  Sorcerer’s Hat.  For my three I matted Sorcerer’s Hat and added Nori to the tips.

Love these blues.  Hopefully I get my blogging mojo back soon. 🙂

Happy polishing!

Hello I know I have been MIA; me and my nails have been spring breaking it with the family.  We took a little mini vacation to an indoor waterpark on little lake close to home.  It sure was nice to get away for a couple nights.

Here was my last manicure.  I wore it last weekend and I have to say I got quite a few compliments.

I started with Julep Dana.  Dana is an interesting white polish that is black light reflective.  It has a blue shimmer which I assume is the part that helps the polish glow under the black light.  Then using a cheap Target triangle makeup sponge I added Julep Ledi to my tips.  Ledi is a black pearl shimmer polish.  When sponged over Dana it takes on a blue gradient effect; which I think of as a funky french mani.  Then for some added glam I used my Northern Lights silver hologram top coat.  WoW these are stunning.  Sadly I didn’t not have a black light to try out Dana and my clubbing days are long over.  I think I will try this color again around Halloween to see if I can find a black light somewhere.

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Happy polishing!

Hello Happy Monday!  It is very happy in my part of the country…we have warmth and sun rays, ahhhhh.

I am going to keep this short and sweet.  Late last week I had polish block.  So I employed Mr Amie to pick me out a color.  This is always a tricky process because it has to be something inspiring to me and preferably a color I haven’t used in a while.  He usually picks a few before I say yes.  This time he did pretty good I went with his second color choice.

Drum roll please…he picked Julep CoCo.  I can’t tell you why, I guess he was drawn to rich dark brown or maybe he was just craving chocolate like me.  If you follow my blog you know my style and for some reason I can’t seem to function with just single color nails.  Sometimes it is nice but only for one day tops .  This time I added Julep Diamond Theory to just the tips using a cheap target eyeshadow applicator.  Diamond Theory is a multi dimensional copper glitter which really compliments Coco.  I have to say I fell in love with color combo.  That being said to be honest I felt like it was more a fall manicure.

What do you think?  He did good right?  Thanks hunni ❤  I know you are reading this 🙂
