Nail Diary #370

December 24, 2015

Merry Christmas Eve friends!!  I can’t tell you how excited I am for this weekend.  It has been a great day so far; snuggles on the couch with my cute little family.  Now I am just getting settled in my mani cave to watch the movie The Holiday and stamp over my matte green nails.

But first I wanted to share my Christmas nails from last week.  I loved this look so much that I wore it all week.  That has to be some sort of holiday nail record for me.

Colors used for my look are:

Square Hue hot stuff red called Bird Fling on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  This might be my new favorite red creme.  It goes on like a dream and is oh so high gloss, love it!   My Ringer finger base is Zoya Genesis as state on Zoya Website Genesis by Zoya can be best described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish – designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust! Such a perfect base for Christmas nail stamping (ignore my shrinkage–I have a love hate relationship with seche vite fast dry top coat).  My littlest fingers are China Glaze This is Tree-Mendous, a lovely green/gold micro glitter that dries a lot like a pixie dust would.

About the nail stamping:

On my thumb I stamped on an ugly Christmas sweater image from Bundle Monster plate BM-S215 using Konad white.

On my index finger I did Candy cane stripes from BM-022. ❤

On my middle finger we have Rudy; used BM-Ho1 with Zoya Desiree and of course I dotted on a red nose using the red previously mentioned above and some black eyes.

And there you have it.  Random skittle Christmas nails.  I got lots of compliments on my nails at my new job; they are starting to figure out that I love nail art 🙂

You guys have a joyous holiday.

TGIF!  I have some good news and some bad news.  I will give you the bad news first… In 2015 Zoya is doing away with Pixie Dust nail polish, naaaaaaaaoooooooooooooo!!!  I freaking love Pixie Dust.  This is so sad.  But thankfully they are doing a BOGO Pixie Dust sale until Sunday.  I will be picking up the few colors I don’t have and stocking up on my all time favorite colors.  If you need the BOGO code all you have to do is ask in the comments or check Zoya IG or FB page.  So that is the bad news.

The good news is really just good for me but I am dying to share.  I am expecting an addition to the family.  We decided to get a Christmas puppy.

Baby Jax, Yorkie

Baby Jax

Right now we have 2 spoiled cats so come Christmas they are in for a big surprise.  We have had a sad void in the family for a few years now since I recently lost both my parents.  I am super excited for this little puppy to bring some joy back in our lives.  We could not be more excited.  Not to mention he is so stinking cute, hello yorkie cuteness.

On to the nails:  Seems fitting my manicure tonight is using Pixie Dust.  Actually three of my all time favorite Pixie Dust colors.  These are just perfect colors for the holidays.  On my pinky and index fingers I used Zoya PD Chita an amazing matte glitter dark Christmas tree green.  My thumb and middle fingers are Zoya PD Chyna.  This is a sexy matte red glitter, it screams the holidays.  On my ring finger I did a white base and then using my dotting tool I made a Christmas tree with both Chita and Chyna and for my star I used Zoya PD Tomoko.  I absolutely love how these turned out.  I have been wearing this polish since Monday WITH NO TOP COAT and so far no CHIPS.  WHY ZOYA WHY?????  RIP Pixie Dusts I will sure miss you.

I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.  I will be counting the days until my new little baby comes home.  This Christmas is about to get a whole lot merrier, yay!!

Happy polishing!

December 13th, 2014

Happy Weekend!  I hope you are all having a great one.  I am super excited because I am nearly finished with all my Christmas shopping, yay!  Now starts the daunting task of wrapping them all.

I have a sweet festive manicure to show you tonight.  This time I wanted holiday nails but not too over the top so I decided to have just one festive accent nail.  On all my nails but one I used one of my 12.14 Square Hue colors.  This month is the last of the Square Hue passport collections and this month they took me to Rovaniemi.  Rovaniemi, huh maybe you are wondering where in the world is that?  Rovaniemi is the home town of Santa Claus, a village in Lapland Finland.  Absolutely perfect location for this month.  The color I picked to try first is a red micro glitter called Joulupukin Pajakyla.  Joulupukin Pajakyla is such a sexy red, I love the glam glow of the micro glitter.  For my ring finger I did a candy cane accent nail.  First I used my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri white and then added stripes with my straight nail vinyls and the red.  The accent was a little tricky, my colors wanted to bleed when I added my clear top coat.  Make sure you wait to until it is completely dry before you top coat it.

I really love how this turned out.  My nails scream holiday glam.

Once again Square Hue does not disappoint.  I can’t wait to see where Square Hue takes me in 2015.

Oh my goodness it is snowing on my blog.

I have a quick fun festive manicure to show you tonight.  I got this idea from @aishers87 on instagram.  This idea is genius.  She took the nail vinyl lighting bolt and made cute little half christmas trees on her nails.

Find these at nailvinyls.com

To recreate this look I painted all my nails with China Glaze Gossip over Gimlets.  This is a silver foil polish with gold flecks.  A perfect base for my Christmas Trees.  After placing my nail vinyls I added my half trees using Zoya Pixie Dust Chita.   Chita is a dark forest green textured polish that dries matte and is all kinds of sparkly.  I was going to add dots for ornaments like @aishers87 but I decided that my pixie dust was enough.  The pixie dust finish reminds me of twinkle lights, my FAVORITE christmas decoration.

These turned out super cute and surprisingly they weren’t that hard to do.   I just love when I nail it!!

Happy polishing!

Hello polish lovers!! Happy Holidays. Hoping your days have been merry and bright.
I have a quick post as I rush off the my last Christmas family gathering.
Today’s polish is part of last years Kardashian Holiday Collection by nicole OPI.
I did a 3:2 mani:
On my pinky, index and thumbs I polished them with a deep red called Keeping Up with Santa , trust me this red is amazing. Perfect for those holiday gatherings.
To add some glam on my ring and middle fingers I used All is Glam, All is Bright. This is a super fine glitter polish packed full with red, blue and silver glitter. Absolutely beautiful in the winters sun.
I was going to put a stamp on it but unfortunately I have ran out of time to play. I promise once the holiday gatherings are over I will have more manis to share with you guys. In fact my daughter asked Santa to bring her mommy some polish so I got some new Zoya polishes to share with you guys…I am in love with the Zoya PixieDust polishes.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Got some sparkle snowflake nails to share with you. Unconventional I must say as snowflakes are traditionally white.
Sometimes you just got to go against the grain and try something out of the box.
To achieve this black snowflake look I started with Julep nude jelly polish called Grace. I picked Grace because I wanted a barley there base. This was just perfect.
On my thumb, index and middle fingers I sponged on black and glitter tips. The black I used was Pure Ice Black Out and the sparkle is China Glaze glitter polish Glistening Snow. Glistening Snow is so divine, if you don’t have this in your collection you are truly missing out.
I did my whole ring and pinky in Glistening Snow. Just to be different 😉
This look was beautiful on its own but I really wanted to add a seasonal touch. I was going to stamp on black Christmas trees but Ho-hum I couldn’t find the right stamp. So I landed on snowflakes instead. BM-323 and BM-H02.
I think these turned out pretty cute. I especially love the black and glitter tips…using the same method with gold glitter would be fun for a New Years mani minus the snowflakes of course.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #230

Monday December 16, 2013
Happy Monday!! I nearly had a mani disaster!!
I did my nails last night and I just wasn’t thrilled with how they turned out. So I held off on sharing them with you. I was just going to remove the manicure all together but I decided that when I got home from work I would TRY to doctor them up. Why completely redo them when I can get out my makeup sponge and dab on some glitter fun? No need to waste the time or polish I invested last night.
First last night I started with China Glaze Holly-Day . This is a dark hunter green. Perfect for festive manicures. I did apply three coats of Holly-Day to get full coverage.
I wanted to do a glam funky french look. So to achieve this look I added on just my tips Zoya Pixie Dust Tomoko. I heart PIXIE DUST, it’s my new obesession!!! Tomoko is a gorgeous gold pixie glitter dust. What a fabulous color; looks so pretty with the dark green.
But like I said just having Tomoko on my tips was just not working for me so tonight I took my makeup sponge and turned up the glitz and glam.
Using Ulta glitter polish Boogie Nights and more Tomoko I sponged on more glitter goodness. There that’s better.
I was able to take a drab not so pretty manicure and turn it into FAB.
Now I’m happy; I just fell in love with this festive glitzy look!!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤
