Nail Diary #408

Eck spiders!!!!  I am super scared of spiders, so this is a perfect Halloween mani for me.

My two identical nails are my index and middle.  For these I used glitter base Square Hue Night Fever.  In black I stamped on spiders from MM11 Messy Mansion plate.  Then I used Wet n Wild Floral Support a jelly red over the top of the stamp.  These are the same polishes I used on my thumb but I used a Bundle Monster black widow stamp instead from bundle Monster BM-XL208.

My ring and pinky fingers have a Square hue black base called Iron Horse.  On my ring I added Night Fever glitter and stamped on a white spider web from Pueen Halloween Party 01 plate and a black spider from bundle monster plate BM-013.

On my pinky I added another spider web and spider from BM-H07.

The glitter glitz with the spiders is a fun twist on a scary Halloween mani.

Nail Diary #362

October 5, 2015

Happy October!  This is my favorite month of the year!!  My nights and weekends are consumed with horror movies and ghost shows.  By November I won’t be able to sleep with the lights off, lol.

I really need to get my blogging act together; since I am behind on my sharing I don’t have any creepy Halloween nails to show you yet.  But I do have something else super cute to share tonight.  And really I think these could pass for Halloween nails.

I started with Square Hue Night Fever from the Aug 2015 collection.  Night Fever is a holo disco ball glitter.  Really this is a full coverage glitter but since I was still on jelly kick I decide to add Zoya Frida over the top of Night Fever.  As described on the Zoya website Frida can be best described as a sheer, dark, warm-toned teal blue with a build able jelly gloss finish.  So so so super glam over Night Fever.  So this concludes my jelly kick; for now!!  What do you think of jelly polishes?  I used to be scared of them but now I love layering them over designs and glitters.  Have fun with it and try to create something unique.

Happy polishing!

Hello fellow polish lovers!!

As mentioned in my last diary post this time I am sharing another Pixie Dust jelly manicure only this time it’s magical.

For this Pixie dust jelly mani I used a Zoya MAGICAL Pixie Dust called Bar.  As stated on the Zoya website Bar by Zoya can be best described as a glittery nude topaz in the best-selling ultra textured, matte, holographic Magical Pixie formula.  OMG like the ultra Pixe Dust Arianna I used in my last post Bar is absolutely gorgeous on its own but again I thought…what if I added a top coat; wait no scratch that what if I added a jelly polish as a top coat?  So I added Zoya Katherine…and um yep I totally still love this look.  Katherine is described by Zoya as a sheer, dark, red-toned aubergine, oxblood jelly polish which looks amazing over Bar.  I could not be happier with how this pixie dust jelly mani turned out.  I love the way the pixie dust glitters under the jelly polish on top, it is super MAGICAL.  I love this technique a lot.

Next time I will be trying another jelly polish over a super glitter polish hope you stop by again to check it out.

Happy polishing!

Hello fellow polish lovers!!

I am on a Pixie Dust jelly manicure kick.  I already knew how much I loved Pixie Dust glitter polish.  But in all this time I never thought of putting jelly polish over it.  The Pixie jelly mani is so cool and unique.  I love this technique a lot.

So for this jelly mani I used a Zoya ULTRA Pixie Dust Arianna.  As stated on the Zoya website Arianna by Zoya can be best described as a blue-toned red wine textured PixieDust with Mega Hex particles which dries matte.  OMG Arianna is absolutely gorgeous on its own but I thought…what if I added a top coat; wait no scratch that what if I added a jelly glitter polish as a top coat?  So I added Julep Kyla…and um yeah WOW.  Kyla is a coral orange holo glitter jelly polish which looks amazing over Arianna.  I could not be happier with how the pixie dust jelly mani turned out.  Trust me the pics do not do this duo justice.

Have you ever tried putting a jelly polish over Pixie Dust?  I can say I liked it so much that you will be seeing it a few more times.

Have a great start to a new week tomorrow.

Happy polishing!

Hello happy hump day! I have some wild nails to share with you this time.

While shopping for a friends b-day present the other day I ran into the Sinful Colors neon collection at the local Walgreens.  HaHa funny story when I first saw these I thought awwww I don’t need any more neon polish so I quickly shopped for my friend and left.  Needless to say I went back in less than three hours and bought all the neon colors they had, 6 in total.  This collection is different due to the packaging, the bottles are actually covered so you don’t see the true color through the glass; odd I know.  That is why I was a little put off at first but then I decided I must try these neons for myself.

I decided to do a neon skittle jelly sandwich:

Thumbs: Orange/yellow neon Rays of bright

Index: Orange/red neon Vivid a try

Middle: pink neon Bright to the point

Ring: dark pink neon Bright B4 UR eyes

Pinky: Pink/Purple neon neON and on

I did use a white undie for these neons.  And just for fun since these are jelly like…I stamped them with animal print image from my newest Bundle Monster plate from Time machine collection BM-XL136 using black konad polish.  Then I added one last thin layer of polish over my stamp.  Like a cheetah skittle jelly sandwich 😉

Overall I am pretty happy with how these turned out; my only complaint is that my pinks are a little too similar but oh wells.

BTW I hope to stay on top of the blog, but be warned I have decided to join the local gym so I can get in some evening workouts.  I have some (ok lots of) stubborn pounds I am trying to go after so if my posts seem kind of sparse that is why.  My intentions are to work this fat off, keep fab nails and keep blogging plus all the regular normal day to day stuff so wish me luck.  I feel like I can do it all 🙂  Burn baby Burn; bye fat bye.

Happy polishing!

Nail Diary #280

June 27, 2014

Woa It’s been a busy week.  So busy I am seeing STARS!!  But seriously TGIF!!!!  Oh Friday’s how I love thee.

Today’s look is very patriotic.  I just love patriotic nails; they are so fun to create.  Not to mention the 4th of July is my wedding anniversary so that day is extra, extra special to me.

This is 3:2 mani.  Meaning three nails are one look and two are a different look.  By the way I totally made that term it up so it’s not a technical or anything, lol!

On my pinky, index and thumbs I used Sinful Colors Embers Only.  At first I wasn’t sure about Embers Only but once I added my top coat I came to love it.  Embers Only is a red jelly full of  hex glitter with a semi pink finish.  The pink is so slight so I would lean to calling this mostly a true red.  It reminds me of a glitter jelly sandwich without all the work.

On my middle and ring fingers I used this fantastical OPI glitter called In True Stafani Fashion.  I played with In True Stafani Fashion a few weeks ago on my tips but I just had to play with it some more.  This glitter polish is so amazing.  Maybe my all time favorite “in your face” glitter.  I love the sparkle and I love the formula.  It is just perfect!

Ok now for some 4th of July patriotic dazzle.  On all my fingers I stamped on a multi size star image using Pueen plate 44.  On the glitter nails I stamped them in Bundle Monster Blue, I love the blue over the silver holo glitter.  On the red nails I used a silver Julep holo polish called Rebel.  Rebel is an amazing for stamping.  Just to be different on my red thumbs I used the furthest left star image.

I am pleased with how this turned out, in the sunlight it really dazzles.  I can’t wait to do a couple more RWB manis in the next week.  I have some ideas so hopefully they translate well on to my tiny little canvases.

Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #239

Monday January 27, 2014
Happy Monday. Hope this day finds you warm. It’s a freezing winter tundra here in Iowa. I don’t know about you but I cannot wait to come out of hibernation this spring. Bring on the end of winter, pretty please!! Unfortunately it won’t come soon enough.
I have some lovely nails to show you tonight ❤️❤️
Started with China Glaze Fifth Avenue a pretty mauve color on all my nails but my index finger. Then over Fifth Avenue I added a Maybelline Color Show street art glitter called Pink Splatter. Pink Splatter is multi size/shape light pink and black glitter, love this fun glitter. I hope to run across some more street art glitters in the near future; my Walmart only had two left.
For some more pink fun I added OPI Nicole You’re an Angel over Pink Splatter. You’re an Angel is a sheer pink/gold shimmer. Works great for jelly sandwiches or as a shimmer topper.

On my index finger I used China Glaze texture black polish Bump in the night as jet black textured base. To spice up Bump in the night I added an OPI liquid sand polish called Stay the night. The Stay the night is a matte black liquid sand with bright pink glitter this really glamifies Bump in the Night .
I really do love how these colors all came together. I never just do my index finger as an accent nail, but I kinda like it.
I just had to add to add a stamp to it. Using my Bundle Monster 426 plate, I stamped on L O V E. On my thumbs I stamped on random lovey sayings from BM 425. To stamp on my images I used Square Hue cream white Westminster.

Ohhh and note to self when stamping on letters be careful when doing your opposite hand. When stamping my right hand I did the letters in the same order…therefore when I look at the it reads E V O L instead of L O V E … Oh my, live and learn and laugh.
Otherwise I think these turned out super fun. I sure had fun creating them and really that is all that matters, oh and plus I got try try out a lot of untried polishes!
