Nail Diary #370

December 24, 2015

Merry Christmas Eve friends!!  I can’t tell you how excited I am for this weekend.  It has been a great day so far; snuggles on the couch with my cute little family.  Now I am just getting settled in my mani cave to watch the movie The Holiday and stamp over my matte green nails.

But first I wanted to share my Christmas nails from last week.  I loved this look so much that I wore it all week.  That has to be some sort of holiday nail record for me.

Colors used for my look are:

Square Hue hot stuff red called Bird Fling on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  This might be my new favorite red creme.  It goes on like a dream and is oh so high gloss, love it!   My Ringer finger base is Zoya Genesis as state on Zoya Website Genesis by Zoya can be best described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish – designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust! Such a perfect base for Christmas nail stamping (ignore my shrinkage–I have a love hate relationship with seche vite fast dry top coat).  My littlest fingers are China Glaze This is Tree-Mendous, a lovely green/gold micro glitter that dries a lot like a pixie dust would.

About the nail stamping:

On my thumb I stamped on an ugly Christmas sweater image from Bundle Monster plate BM-S215 using Konad white.

On my index finger I did Candy cane stripes from BM-022. ❤

On my middle finger we have Rudy; used BM-Ho1 with Zoya Desiree and of course I dotted on a red nose using the red previously mentioned above and some black eyes.

And there you have it.  Random skittle Christmas nails.  I got lots of compliments on my nails at my new job; they are starting to figure out that I love nail art 🙂

You guys have a joyous holiday.

Nail Diary #321

Hello I am continuing with my Valentine theme nails.  I hope you love them as much as I do.

Love is in the air with this manicure because I am head over heels in love with Zoya Demi.  When looking at Demi in the bottle it is meh; but once I added it to the nail I swooned.  Demi is a beautiful shade medium purple,  but the color with my skin tone is to die!  I know purple is not traditionally a “Valentine” color but stay with me to see how I made it work.  Somehow I knew right away Demi had to be paired with China Glaze glitter polish Put a bow on it.  Put a bow on it is a fuchsia/purple glitter that really looks perfect with Zoya’s Demi.

Here is how I created this not so traditional Valentine manicure:

On all my nails but my middle finger I used Zoya Demi.  Then on my pinky and thumb I added “my glitz” CG Put a bow on it.  I love how the Demi base made this glitter pop!!

On my middle finger I knew I wanted to do an accent nail.  What better than hearts on the middle finger, right!  So I did a white base using Julep Kate.  Kate is a pearl white frost, a perfect clean base for my stamping.  Over Kate I stamped on some lovely hearts from the Bundle Monster plate BM-620 using Demi.  I Love this multi size heart image.  The purple hearts over the white is amazing.  Then I got all mattey and put Zoya matte top coat over just the white heart nail.

What do you think?  I happen to LOVE them.  I love the purple, the glitter and the stamped accent nail.  What is not to love about this combo ❤

Happy polishing!

Happy almost Friday!!  Wow I can’t believe it is almost February already.  Time flies!

I guess I am sticking to the Valentine theme for the next few weeks.  I can’t get enough of hearts, love and kisses.

Ooh la la I have some super kissable tips to share with you.

I did a skittle mani this time; meaning total randomness on every nail.  I absolutely love skittles and typically when I do them it is because I am indecisive that day, haha.

Here is what I did on each nail:

On my thumb: Zoya pixie dust Arabella.  Arabella is the perfect shade of berry pink, love it.  I stamped on a lip image from Bundle Monster plate BM-303 using Square Hue Gibson Girl.  I love the contrast of these pinks together ♥.

Index Finger: Started with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nude Sand Storm, a perfect base for a shimmery pink top coat China Glaze Temptation Carnation (an oldie but goodie).  Then I stamped on some more lips using a Zoya holographic polish called Blaze. Oh so pretty.  Blaze stamped on like a dream.

Middle finger:  I used the same color combo as my index just stamped on single lip image instead.

Ring Finger:  Again started with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nude Sand Storm, a perfect base for Julep Love.  Love was from last years Feb Maven box.  It is a perfect topper all gold and pink pearly with hot pink micro glitters.  Then using Blaze again I stamped on a different lips kiss image from BM-H17.

Last but not least my little pinky nail:  On this nail I kept it sweet and simple using Zoya Arabella with a clear top coat.

What do you think of my kiss kiss nails.  I happen to LOVE them.

Happy polishing!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

TGIAF!!  Here I am looking forward to another lovely weekend with my cute little family.  We don’t have too much planned which is nice for once.

Tonight I have some wild nails to share with you.  In my head these turned out so different; that happens to me a lot.  Don’t get me wrong I am still pleased with the results it just turned out different then planned.

I was thinking I would layer a textured sheer polish over an animal print stamp to get a realistic fur look.  This did not happen, the textured polish that I thought would be sheer was not sheer enough IMO.  So I improvised 🙂

Here is what I did:

Starting with Bundle Monster plate 223 I stamped on the far left zebra stripe image using my Konad black polish onto my semi-naked nails.  Semi-naked meaning just wearing my nail envy base coat.  Then over my stripes I added China Glaze Sand dolla make you holla this is a textured milky white polish with little bits of multi glitters.  Please note this polish is sheer, you would need several coats or layer it over a darker base for full coverage.  I did like how Sand dolla make you holla looked over my stripes BUT it just wasn’t bold enough for me at the time.  So I slapped on some China Glaze Fairy Dust thinking this would do the trick but nope I had to take it a few steps farther.  Once my Fairy Dust dried I added another zebra stamp and then another coat of Fairy Dust and called it done.  Oh wow!  These nails are just WILD and sparkly.  RAWR I just love me some Fairy Dust.:)

Hope you have a spectacular weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

TGIAF again, yay!!!
I have some pixie dust to show you tonight.
I am in love with Zoya Pixie Dust, if you don’t know it’s a textured matte glitter nail polish. If I were rich girl I would have them all in my collection…a girl can wish right.
I would describe Zoya Stevie as a lovely light shade of lilac purple. Stevie makes me excited to see my lilac flowers bloom; hopefully that will happen in a few weeks.
Weird fact I noticed in the bathtub that pixie dust really sparkles in the water. I cannot wait to play with some of these gems in the summertime wearing them to the beach or pool.

Of course after a day wearing just Stevie I had to embellish it. Why can’t I just have one color nails? I always feel compelled to add a stamp or glitter top coat after a day.
So I added a couple layers of stamps. Using Pueen buffet plate 65 I added a bi-colored flower image using Sinful colors dark purple Let’s Talk and coral pink Eva so Bright. Then using that same buffet stamping plate I added some swirl images using my Konad black. The final result is very unique and pretty. You can’t see the flower image but it does make for interesting background colors.

I liked Stevie the most all on its own with no top coat. It reminds me sugar coated gum drops, yum.

Hello. I can’t wait to show you today’s nails. They are so blingy.
The colors I used are Loreal Too Dimensional? and Zoya Solange.
Too Dimensional? is a multi size textured blue/purple glitter with a gold shimmer and larger silver round glitter. It’s a really pretty polish.
Solange is a Pixie Dust. I would call this sunshine in a bottle. Love love love it!!
To achieve this look I used my trusty makeup sponge to make a bi-color gradient.
On my pinky, index and thumbs Too Dimensional? is on the tips. And on my ring and middle fingers it’s just the opposite.
I think this turned out so pretty.
Solange might be my new favorite Pixie Dust. It also sponged on like a dream.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #256

Hi there! Hooray I hit the red tag jackpot at Target, I found the L’oreal Gold Dust Collection polishes on sale for under $2 each. Since these are normally go for $5.99 a bottle I found myself snatching these up. I got seven total; I know I am weak. But in all fairness I got three the first time I saw them, and then three a few weeks later on another target trip and then went and got one more this morning after I did this manicure since I realized they are liquid gems in a bottle.
The polishes in this collection are matte textured glitter. Very similar to pixie dust which I am obsessed with; so it’s no wonder why I just could not resist getting seven of these babies. I have no regrets at all. That’s how I know I am true nail polish addict, aHhhhh sigh.
On to the nails.
Before I do sponge gradient manicure I always start with a neutral base color. This time I used Sally Hansen insta-dry Sand Storm as my base.
Then using my cosmetic wedge I sponged on
Rough around the edges closest to cuticle. It’s black with silver glitters
I like it chunky in the middle a copper color with gold and orange/red glitter
The statement piece gold gold and more gold.
This look was super easy to sponge on…the cleanup was a pain. But in my opinion totally worth the trouble.
I love how this turned out. I wore it for a day with no top coat. But decided to add a top coat this afternoon. I liked it both ways but I think I love it more with the top coat. In the sun these nails are really amazing, pictures do not do them justice.
I can’t wait to play with the other four colors I scored on sale from this awesome collection.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤
