Nail Diary #392

July 19, 2016

The nail of the day “hues” are absolutely gorgeous.

To get this look I used a sponge to apply and blend two colors.  The color closest to the cuticle is Square Hue Drop Out and the tip color is Watergate.  These are both duo chrome colors so I thought they would look really great as a sponge gradient.  Watergate is purple with blue flash and Drop out is blue with purple flash.  They almost match too much, in some light you almost could not tell that I had two colors on.  But regardless both of these colors are gorgeous, showstoppers.

Oh well my one complaint is the SHRINK **gasp** ugh nothing worse than spending all that time and your tips shrink, super annoying. For that very reason I didn’t get to wear this fab combo too long, my nail OCD just wouldn’t allow it.  But if you look beyond the dreaded SHRINK on the tips this combo is pretty rad.

Have you seen the new SCKJsatin trendmatters polish, more specifically Sinful Colors Konstellation?  This is my new favorite color.  It’s a color shifter and it dries streak free.  The SC website describes it as a mysterious pink and green duo-chrome shadeTo me the green is more of a teal.  This color is memorizing and it dries as a satin matte.  I really did not have high hopes for King Kylie’s Sinful line but this color really makes me want to head to Target and seek the other colors.  Sinful Colors Konstellation is a must have!!!

Nail Diary #259

April 10, 2014
TGIAF!!! The sun is shining and the temps are higher than freezing, thank goodness. This allows me to get outside and take advantage of the natural light for my polish pictures, yay!!! I have often wondered what the neighbors think of me outside taking pictures of my hands!!! They must think I am crazy, and maybe I am just a bit.
Tonight I have a simple manicure to show you.
This color is from the April 2014 SquareHue passport collection, Amsterdam. This whole collection is amazing. The color I picked to play with first is a duochrome called P.C. Hooftstraat. Oh how I love a good duochrome polish. This is a pretty purple color with electric blue shimmers, it is absolutely gorgeous. The duochrome is hard to capture with a picture, it really freaked out my camera.
This polish is so pretty that there is no need for glitter accent nails, funky top coats or even stamping.
I think this color would be a fun color for your vehicle. Someday I want a car the same color as my favorite fingernail polish color….a girl can dream right.
I can’t wait to try the other two colors out in this collection. What pretty colors for spring!
P.S. Have you tried SquareHue? If you haven’t you should; and no they don’t pay me to say that, I buy all my own polish.

Nail Diary #248

February 28, 2014
I have to say I am really not sad to see February go. Bye B don’t let the door hit you… I’m not bitter, no wait maybe I am.
I absolutely cannot wait for Spring!!

On to the fun stuff, Nail Polish.
Have you seen the SquareHue Tokyo Passport Collection?
My favorite polish in this collection is Shibuya. This is a duochrome micro glitter pink in your face polish. Duochrome meaning in certain lighting it looks like a different color. Sometimes it’s hot glitter pink and it other lights it has a blue/purple shimmer. There is also a gold/orange shimmer in the bottle that I did see on the nail in a certain angle.
I did do four coats…I guess I just couldn’t stop brushing. Every stroke made it get more vibrant and bold.
And when this polish gets in the sunlight, goodnight.

Of course Shibuya is gorgeous all on its own. But I just had to do some stamping over it after a day. With my Konad black I added some images from my Pueen 73 stamping buffet plate. I am in love with these plates.
I love doing random images on each nail. A rose here and a vine there.

Can you feel my love for this manicure? So happy with how these turned out.

Ps Have you subscribed to SquareHue yet?
If you haven’t do yourself a favor and do.
I look forward to stalking the mailbox every month just to see what theme they come out with next. 🙂
Plus the quality and quantity you just can’t beat SquareHue.
And no they didn’t pay me to say that it’s my own personal opinion.
I just love Hue pure and simple!!

Enjoy your weekend!!

Nail Diary #220

Monday November 4, 2013
I did this mani last night…waited to blog it hoping for some sunshine, no such luck today. Too bad because my glitter accent nails would sparkle a lot more in the sunshine. Oh wells it is fall in Iowa.
After an entire month of Halloween nails it was kind of nice to do a nice normal mani.
I had to play with one of my new Finger Paint glitter polishes I got a month or so ago. Peacock Portrait is a teal hex glitter mixed with micro holo glitters. It is gorgeous. I decided to do a 3:2 mani and paired this pretty with China Glaze Deviantly Daring.
First I painted all my nails with Deviantly Daring this is from the China Glaze Bohemian 2012 collection. It’s a peacock teal blue/green duochrome polish. Because it’s real frosty and shows brush strokes I added my Julep matte topcoat to my pinky, index and thumb. To me the matte evens out the brush strokes and takes away that frosty finish that I loathe.
On my ring and middle I added my glitter. I really only needed one coat of Peacock Portrait but out of habit I added two.
I have to say I love this combo. This glitter is a must have…so gorgeous!
