Nail Diary #425

Got some fun nail art to share with you this time…

This is a technique called nail sponging. Using a makeup sponge I blend together two colors. One for the majority of the nail and a color on the tip. This is one of my fav nail art techniques. Super easy and quick with a huge FAB result ❤️💅🏻

Colors are KB SHIMMER Cubicle pusher a holo taupe and on the tips Yeti or not a white holo glitter.

This is a fun combo–super gorgeous in the ☀️ 😎

Here is a wild mani for ya!

Started with Square Hue pink Arabesque from ballet collection.

For some wild I added animal print stamp from bundle monster plate 223 using Square Hue Lengha from the kalbelia collection.

Totally love this look!

Just for fun “Mani Cave” pictures

Hey polish lovers.
Today while I was hibernating at home watching Real Housewives in my mani cave mindlessly playing candy crush the sun came out, oh the glorious sun!!! It inspired me to take some pics of my cave in other words “my happy place”.
I thought hmmm why not share the pictures with you guys?!? Just a glimpse into my work space. I mean only people who read and or follow nail blogs would really get my “mani cave” or possibly understand my obsession with nail polish.
Maybe you will appreciate the fact that I have the little bottles of fun displayed like art on my walls; truthfully having them displayed out in the open really leads to manicure inspirations.

So grab a coffee or a cocktail and sit back and enjoy some photos of my “happy place”, the place where the manis are created.

Hope you enjoy!

Nail Diary #206

Tuesday September 10, 2013
With this last mani I had some fun with multiple colors and Pueen stamping plates.
My base colors are as follows:
Index and ring: China Glaze Angel’s Breath. A pretty nude pink polish.
Thumb and middle: Sally Hansen insta-dri Slick Slate. This quick dry polish is a brown taupe color. Reminds me of the color of a mushroom. Loving the fact that it dries fast, a great base for stamping.
Pinky finger: Julep polish Jill. This is a lighter shade of Slick Slate. It has a sea salt finish that dries textured and matte. Love this color and the texture matte finish.
Stamping plates I used are Pueen Plates 38 and 40, the bottom middle images from both plates.
On index and ring fingers I stamped on the owl image using China Glaze Below Deck.
On the middle and thumb I used the flower image with Orly polish Prelude to a kiss.
On my pinky I used a flower from the same image on just the tip of the nail. I wasn’t sure if I could get the stamp to go on the sea salt finish polish but I think it turned out great. Plus this was my first time trying to use a partial stamping image…defiantly not for beginners. I guess I was feeling brave!!
I am loving these stamping images, so cute and fun. I also like the light neutral colors, it has been awhile.
I hope you guys have a fantastic week.

Nail Diary #177

Thursday June 6, 2013
Hey polish lovers.
TGiAF!! And I get afternoon off tomorrow, bonus. I ❤ Fridays!

So it’s official I need a stamping intervention. I’m addicted to stamp designs. I am getting better and better with this technique. Not perfect but I will keep practicing, promise. I love how stamping takes my manis to a whole other level.

I’m so in ❤love❤with my SquareHue SoBe 0613 collection that I had to play with all three colors tonight.
The collection consists of Ocean Drive a pale teal which you saw in my last post. Collins Avenue a neon coral color, love love love. And last but definitely not least Lincoln Road a gorg taupe.

Pay close attention because I really jumped around with the colors just to test stamping color combos. I did the teal on my pinky fingers, neon coral on ring n middle and taupe on index and thumb.

Then I choose my Pueen plate 37. It’s the image on the left, fun circles. I really wish I had some tropical stamp to go with the SoBe theme but no such luck. Guess I better shop around wink wink.

On the teal I stamped the taupe, it’s ok. On the coral I stamped both the taupe and teal and they look identical, don’t love. On the index I stamped the coral over the taupe, which was better. But on my thumbs I stamped the teal over the taupe…ding ding…win. Wish I did them all that way. Live and learn.

Well now you know so get out there and stamp teal over taupe polish you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #166

Friday May 3, 2013
Happy Friday and happy weekend.
I decided to play tonight.
Did another 3:2 mani
On my pinky, middle and thumb I used Orly Faint of Heart a lovely taupe polish.
On my ring and index I used three coats of Hard Candy cocoa s’more a lovely taupe cream with blk and silver glitter, love love love. I really wishi had a s’more right now, unfortunately my backyard is covered in SNoW!!
The taupe was a little too plain so I added a stamp, BM-223. A zebra stamp, I used a holo China Glaze polish to stamp it called Galactic Gray.
I am really happy how my stamping turned out. I love the gray on taupe action.
This is why I am addicted to doing this…tonight my daughter even helped out by cleaning my plate and stamper, 🙂
