Nail diary#34

Sunday Feb 26th 2012

Hello all. Sunday already, boo!!! Had a great weekend though 🙂
4 Tonights mani I started with China Glaze “Starboard”. A real pretty grass green. Went on great with 2 coats but I did 3 out of habit!!

Then I felt like I needed to do something with my new dotting tools. I saw a fellow blogger do cute lil flowers so I thought I would do a spin off from that.
FloWeR PoWeR!!!
Colors used were flowers we’re Ulta “Plum Perfect” and Finger Paints “Drizzle of Pink”. And center of flower is “Art Nouv-yellow”.
Results are pretty cute. And I have to say I did pretty good with the dotting tool…for my first time.

Nail diary #33

Wednesday Feb 22nd 2012

First off I have to say my new fav CG color is “For Audrey”. It is so pretty on its own.

Konad stamping…Let’s try this again.
Tonight on the way home from Syd’s art class we were talking about her mani and I said I wanted to try the stamp on me again but i was afraid it would look bad. So she suggested I practice my stamping on paper then move to my nails…..hey why didn’t I think of that, lol.
Ok so after practicing a few different stamps I finally settled on Konad stamp BM-224~~Looks like snake skin.
After I had my CG “for audrey” on and dry with my SV fast dry top coat. I used SC “Black on Black to stamp on my snake skin.
This was my most successful attempt on myself so far. Since I screwed up a few stamps I decided to use CG “Fairy Dust” a lovely light glitter to try to mask my blemishes.
I think it turned out ok…but far from perfect….
My new mission: to get good at this 🙂

Ahhhhhh Konad stamping…
I love it soooooo much when I see it on all the other blogs and pinterest but I just can’t seem to get it mastered.
I really believe the trick is the polish. A thicker polish seems to work better…at least for me.

So since practice makes perfect…I decided to use my 7 year olds nails for practice. She was very willing!!
Miss Sydney picked gold n black(her school colors) and she insisted on zebra stripes!!!
So we went with Sinful Colors “All About You” on her nails, a beautiful gold glittery polish(gorg) and then for the zebra stamp we used SC “Black on Black”, a perfect black cream for stamping.
She picked Konad plate BM-223. This is the same stamp I tried on my toes…the only stamp SO far that I can get to work.
She did great…sat still the whole time and even agreed to be be photographed.
Ps I also noticed she has stopped biting her nails….thinking mommy’s addition might be rubbing off on her 😉

Monday Feb 20th 2012
Last nights manicure China Glaze “VIII” and sinful color “nail junkie” on the tips was boring me already.
But I did not have time to REDo my nails!! So I decided to spice up what I already had.
Threw on a coat of Essie Shine of the Times and bam nails went from DraB to FaB!! It only took a few minutes with my Seche Vite fast dry top coat!
Now I m loving my nails again!!!
MY world is right once again 🙂

Nail diary #30

Sunday Feb 19th 2012
Tonight’s manicure did not go as expected….
Nails are China Glaze “VIII” a dark purple almost black on, which I love.
My plan was to use konad flower stamp with silver fingerpaints…but I chickened out, tried it on few nails and it looked bad. I just can’t seem to get the stamping mastered.
So instead I went with new a sinful color I got on Friday just on the tips “nail junkie”.
Not my fav mani but it is ok for a few days!!
