Nail Diary #406

I don’t often get that excited about my nail art.  But this turned out so perfect; I am in love!  I bet you FALL in love also ❤

Started with a retro OPI polish called DS GLOW, Glow is a golden brown almost copper foil like polish.  It is a perfect back drop for some fall stamping.

Last week I splurged an ordered a couple Pueen stamping plates so I was super excited to try one out.  Using Pueen Nature Lover plate 01 I stamped on some autumn leaves using Konad black stamping polish.  This alone was really pretty but a while back I picked up some Wet n Wild jelly (Candy gloss nail tint) polish from Walgreens so I though why not give the lead light technique a try, jellies are perfect for this type of manicure.  Wet n Wild jellies are Floral Support the red and One Grape or Another is the purple.  I didn’t have a green Wet n Wild jelly so I used my Zoya Frida for a teal green leaf.  I just used my dotting tool and filled in the leaves with the jelly polish.  The jelly polish is a tint so it dries perfect within the lines of the stamp.

Ooooh em geeeeeee forgive me but I LOVE how these turned out.

I did not get a proper pic in the sun; but it is just absolutely gorge in the sunlight.  Glow shimmers under the jellies ❤

I have a fall inspired mani to share with you this time.

Polishes used Square Hue Slot Canyon and a Julep glitter called Jane.  I have had Jane for a long time and she was just sitting on my nail shelf in the plastic wrapper waiting to be opened; still wondering why I waited so long to try this glitter on.  Slot Canyon is a caramel brown a perfect fall hue and formula was on point perfect.  Jane the glitter on my ringer finger and pinky is a copper to die 4 glitter, full coverage in two coats.

I absolutely love how this combo looks; these polishes look like they were made to be worn together.  And that glitter tip on the pinky came out PERFECT!!  It is so pretty in the sunlight ❤  I love when a look comes together.  Happy autumn, cheers to warm colors!

Merry Christmas Eve friends!!  I can’t tell you how excited I am for this weekend.  It has been a great day so far; snuggles on the couch with my cute little family.  Now I am just getting settled in my mani cave to watch the movie The Holiday and stamp over my matte green nails.

But first I wanted to share my Christmas nails from last week.  I loved this look so much that I wore it all week.  That has to be some sort of holiday nail record for me.

Colors used for my look are:

Square Hue hot stuff red called Bird Fling on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  This might be my new favorite red creme.  It goes on like a dream and is oh so high gloss, love it!   My Ringer finger base is Zoya Genesis as state on Zoya Website Genesis by Zoya can be best described as a crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish – designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust! Such a perfect base for Christmas nail stamping (ignore my shrinkage–I have a love hate relationship with seche vite fast dry top coat).  My littlest fingers are China Glaze This is Tree-Mendous, a lovely green/gold micro glitter that dries a lot like a pixie dust would.

About the nail stamping:

On my thumb I stamped on an ugly Christmas sweater image from Bundle Monster plate BM-S215 using Konad white.

On my index finger I did Candy cane stripes from BM-022. ❤

On my middle finger we have Rudy; used BM-Ho1 with Zoya Desiree and of course I dotted on a red nose using the red previously mentioned above and some black eyes.

And there you have it.  Random skittle Christmas nails.  I got lots of compliments on my nails at my new job; they are starting to figure out that I love nail art 🙂

You guys have a joyous holiday.

YAY!!  It’s summertime!  I live in Iowa and the beaches are not that fab here in the Midwest; I mean once you’ve seen the ocean it is hard to go to a small Iowa Lake beach.  So I figured if I can’t take myself to a proper beach then I will put the beach on my nails.  Sounds logical right 😉

Here is how I got beach nails:

On my thumb, index and pinky I used a base of Zoya Rowan a satin nude polish.  Then I took Square Hue ala moana deep sky blue that has a blue shimmer and did a sponge gradient to resemble the sky over the sandy beach.

On my middle and ring fingers I used China Glaze Sun of a Peach a neon orange that freaks out my camera.  This color is way brighter in real life.

I loved this color combo but I felt like I needed to do some stamping to complete the beachy theme.

On the sand and sky nails I stamped on some waves using an image from BM-504 first using Square Hue ka’ahumanu a teal blue to give depth and then once again using white to represent ocean foam.

On my happy neon nails I added starfish from BM-503 using Square Hue ka’ahumanu.  OK I love teal over the  orange neon, who knew.

I really love how these turned out, now let’s all find a real beach 🙂

Really it is only Tuesday, sigh.  Is it just me or is this week dragging; and why am I wishing my days away anyway.  I really need to work on that 😉

I have a super fun mani to share with you tonight, and no sorry it is not cinco de mayo themed.  I guess I didn’t plan that out very good.

But I did have a Facebook friend challenged me to do a s’more themed manicure.  And like any good nail polish addict I accepted that challenge.  I really didn’t give it much thought I just went for it.

Colors I used are Zoya polishes sponged on with a triangle makeup sponge in the following order:

For my graham crackers I used Chanelle near the cuticles and the tip.

My chocolate is Codie,  which really ended up being too dark for my liking but I was already committed once I realized.

The color that represented my roasted marshmallows is a pixie dust called Godiva.  I love how Godiva sparkled like roasted sugar.

Well, this is not my all time favorite manicure but it really does make me crave a camp fire with some yummy s’mores, but really that doesn’t take much.  There is nothing like relaxing by a camp fire on a beautiful night.

Do you think it translates?  I know the friend that challenged me was very pleased with the end result, she could envision a s’more.

Happy polishing!

Hello Happy Monday!  It is very happy in my part of the country…we have warmth and sun rays, ahhhhh.

I am going to keep this short and sweet.  Late last week I had polish block.  So I employed Mr Amie to pick me out a color.  This is always a tricky process because it has to be something inspiring to me and preferably a color I haven’t used in a while.  He usually picks a few before I say yes.  This time he did pretty good I went with his second color choice.

Drum roll please…he picked Julep CoCo.  I can’t tell you why, I guess he was drawn to rich dark brown or maybe he was just craving chocolate like me.  If you follow my blog you know my style and for some reason I can’t seem to function with just single color nails.  Sometimes it is nice but only for one day tops .  This time I added Julep Diamond Theory to just the tips using a cheap target eyeshadow applicator.  Diamond Theory is a multi dimensional copper glitter which really compliments Coco.  I have to say I fell in love with color combo.  That being said to be honest I felt like it was more a fall manicure.

What do you think?  He did good right?  Thanks hunni ❤  I know you are reading this 🙂
