Nail Diary #248

February 28, 2014
I have to say I am really not sad to see February go. Bye B don’t let the door hit you… I’m not bitter, no wait maybe I am.
I absolutely cannot wait for Spring!!

On to the fun stuff, Nail Polish.
Have you seen the SquareHue Tokyo Passport Collection?
My favorite polish in this collection is Shibuya. This is a duochrome micro glitter pink in your face polish. Duochrome meaning in certain lighting it looks like a different color. Sometimes it’s hot glitter pink and it other lights it has a blue/purple shimmer. There is also a gold/orange shimmer in the bottle that I did see on the nail in a certain angle.
I did do four coats…I guess I just couldn’t stop brushing. Every stroke made it get more vibrant and bold.
And when this polish gets in the sunlight, goodnight.

Of course Shibuya is gorgeous all on its own. But I just had to do some stamping over it after a day. With my Konad black I added some images from my Pueen 73 stamping buffet plate. I am in love with these plates.
I love doing random images on each nail. A rose here and a vine there.

Can you feel my love for this manicure? So happy with how these turned out.

Ps Have you subscribed to SquareHue yet?
If you haven’t do yourself a favor and do.
I look forward to stalking the mailbox every month just to see what theme they come out with next. 🙂
Plus the quality and quantity you just can’t beat SquareHue.
And no they didn’t pay me to say that it’s my own personal opinion.
I just love Hue pure and simple!!

Enjoy your weekend!!
Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Oh Pixie Dust how I love you!! Zoya pixie dust Arabella is just the perfect shade of fuchsia pink. This matte textured sparkly glitter polish is not only beautiful but it is the perfect polish if you are in a rush. Arabella is easily a two coat polish and doesn’t require a top coat if you adore it’s matte finish.
I am so sorry that there is not sunlight here in Iowa today for the photographs. I am beginning to think spring will never arrive this year.
So I am taking matters in my own hands and added a spring flower accent nail.
Using BM-016 I added some fun daisy looking flowers to my ring finger. I first did the flowers with Konad special stamping black and then stamped the same image again in white to create a 3D look. Then I added my Seche Vite dry fast clear top coat to really make my accent nail stand out.

If you haven’t played with pixie dust yet I encourage you to do so.
Hope you guys have a great start to your week.

Hooray the weekend is finally here! What a long week, whew.
So I got a Friday night quickie for you.
AND I just realized I have already shared this color on the blog.
That officially makes this color fabulous!! Clearly I might love it.
Zoya Normani.
I first played with it here Nail Diary #238.
Which was exactly one month ago. Too funny.
I used my Konad black polish to add a fun image from Pueen 59.
I think it looks rather pretty.
Hope all guys have a great weekend!!

In the spirit of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi I have a very unique skittle manicure to share with you.
I wanted to do something fun with red, white and blue GO USA; plus the medal colors gold, silver and bronze.
Since all four fingers are different I am just going to list out what I did to create the look:
Thumb and Index fingers: these are my medal fingers. I did a tri color sponge gradient. Color closest to cuticle is the gold China Glaze Twenty-Four K, middle is the silver Julep Harley, tips are the bronze Julep Dakota. I had to add some sparkle by using my Out the Door silver hologram topcoat. Then using Konad special black polish I stamped on a multi circle image from BM-020 plate.
Middle fingers: SquareHue Patriot electric blue color. I added some fun stars using Konad white stamping polish and BM-H25.
Ring fingers: SquareHue Fifth Avenue red. Love this red, one of my favorites. I added stripes using Konad white stamping polish and BM-022.
Pinky fingers: SquareHue Fifth Avenue red as a base then I added some fun glitter Julep America. America is packed full of red, blue and silver glitters and you may find some random silver stars in there as well.
This Olympic manicure is very busy. But I think it is super fun in the spirit of the games.
What is your favorite winter game to watch? I love the ice skating and the snowboarding.
Have a great start to your week.

I have a skittle love themed manicure to share with you tonight.
On my pinky and thumb I picked Zoya Pixie Dust Chyna as a base color. Chyna is a beautiful red pixie dust. Dries matte but looks gorgeous with a top coat as well.
On my ring and index finger I picked a pretty pink OPI Hey Baby. Ok I got Hey Baby as a birthday gift, you may know it’s part of the Gwen collection. I was unimpressed at first…BUT once I put Hey Baby on oh boy I fell in love. I’m not usually a pink girl let alone pepto pink but Hey Baby is so not pepto pink it amazing, especially paired with black, ohhhhhhhh the feelings a perfect polish evokes ❤️❤️❤️.
On my middle finger my base is Revlon Spirit top speed white. Then China Glaze Snow Globe on top. Snow Globe is a fun iridescent glitter.
Plates I used for stamping:
BM 412
BM 411
Pueen 43
Today I got some Konad black and white special polishes in the mail for stamping. This is the first time I have ever stamped with Konad special polish. I have been searching for the perfect white and black stamping polish for years….why why why didn’t I just get this in the first place? In the end I would have saved a lot of money and time. Oh well live and learn.
The polish I used to stamp on the white nail is Hey Baby and China Glaze Ruby Deer.
I found that I did pick some of my harder images to stamp on tonight; clearly they aren’t perfectly placed but from afar they look great. It just goes to show your stamping doesn’t have to be perfect to look good.
This isn’t my favorite Valentine manicure but it’s still pretty cute.

P.s. I can’t wait to play with my Konad special stamping polishes again in the near future.

Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day; and if you don’t have a Valentine go out and spoil yourself buy some pretty nail polish or something sweet 🙂

February 10, 2014
Happy Monday!!
My nails are all rosey tonight.
To create this look first I started by doing a pink/red sponge gradient.
I used all three colors from my 02.13 SquareHue nail polish subscription box. I have said it before but I absolutely adore SquareHue polish.
The color closest to cuticle High School Crush is a pale pink. My middle color Wartime Romance is a gorgeous mauve. On the tip is Dear John a vampy dark red almost black frosty shimmer.
I really love this color combo; so appropriate for this time of year.
And of course I had to add a stamp. I just got my new 2014 Pueen plates so I had to play with one of those. It was really hard to choose just one plate but I settled on #64; it is packed full of roses, lace, hearts and flower images. The entire set is amazing! I am looking forward to many more Pueen creations.
I adore roses, they are one of my favorite flowers. So in honor of the upcoming day of love I decided to stamp on the rose images using Maybelline Color Show metallic Bold Gold. By the way Bold Gold is an excellent stamping polish.
The gold roses over this color trio are really beautiful.
