Nail Diary #211

Sunday September 29, 2013
Seriously Sunday already, awe man. These weekends sure go by quickly.

So my fav month of the whole year is October!!! I just love Halloween and Halloween nails!!
I am starting a tad early this year, I know I know I just couldn’t wait. I have also began my scary movie fright fest, all scary all the time.
What is your all time fav scary movie????
For tonight’s Halloween nails I started with Sinful colors Clementine on all my nails. What a sinful orange, I love it, it is the perfect Halloween hue.
Once that dried I added Julep’s Kyla. Kyla is an orange glitter jelly. I love this jelly glitter it is a perfect base for some Halloween stamping fun.
On my ring and index fingers I added some bats using Sinful Colors Black on Black and BM-H08 plate.
On my pinky, middle and thumb I added a Maybelline black shred called Carbon Frost, then I stamped on some spooky eye balls from the same stamping plate with China Glaze White on White.
I am thinking this is a pretty spooky Halloweenie mani. I can’t wait to create more all month long.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #210

Happy Monday. Hope your week is starting off great.
Today marks the first full day of fall here in Iowa. I love fall it’s my favorite season. I get to decorate for all my favorite holidays, cozy up on the couch on cool nights and burn candles. Smell the crisp fall air filled with the smell of leaves and camp fires.
I just had to play with fall colors tonight.
I decided on a dark teal Finger Paints polish called Fall-ing for you, teal is my favorite color plus it’s really popular this year. This color is really pretty but it has a frosty finish. Sometimes I don’t mind frost polishes but this one is a bit streaky. Rather than getting all OCD about it I just decided to add a matte top coat. The matte top coat gives it a lovely jewel tone and evens out the frosty streaks.
I tried a Salon Perfect matte top coat that I picked up from Wal-mart this time. I must say not bad at all. I see little to no difference in formula from Essie matte, well except price.
To add more of a fall feel I decided to stamp on some fall leaves. Using Bundle Monster Holiday plate H11 I stamped on the far left leaf image using my SquareHue Scorched Summer polish. This is a burnt orange Creme polish. It stamped very easily.
I just am loving the teal and burnt orange combo.
I did add a Finger Paints bar glitter polish to my pinky finger Gourd or Bad?. This bar glitter has all kinds of fall colored bars. Makes for a nice accent nail.

TGiAF!!
I don’t know about you but I am really looking forward to another weekend. Weekends are the best!
I am on the matte polish kick. That last grey matte polish from #208 wore so good I decided to try another Sinful Colors matte polish.
This one is a green matte. I would call it a dark healthy grass green. It’s called Strapped. This polish went on real nice. You do have to work real quick because it dries super fast. I did do three coats, but I probably could have got away with two.
Course I had to add some glitz, I think matte and glitter combos are the best!!
When looking at my Great Wall of polish tonight…I was being drawn to Sinful Colors Show Stopper. I have no idea why I have never tried this glitter. Maybe because in the bottle it looks pink and I don’t do pink nails very often. But let me tell you Show Stopper is amazing. It’s a jelly polish packed with tiny lil holo bits of glitter. Love love love!! And I think it really looks beautiful with the matte green polish.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #208

Tuesday September 17, 2013
Hey guys!! Hope your week is going fab. Sunday night’s nails lasted less then 24hours. Not that I didn’t like them; I had to plan my polish around my work attire.
For my day job I have a work seminar Tuesday and Wednesday so I decided to tone it down. Not because my nails were too flashy…I mean is there such a thing, lol jk. Just mainly I wanted my nails to match my outfits. I don’t dress up too often so I wanted to really go all out and accessorize my nails to my clothes. Do you ever do that, I find myself doing it a lot. And like Mr Am1e said last night “it’s not like you don’t have to polish to do it” haha funny guy.
I am going to be wearing grey and black ensembles so I choose a Sinful Colors matte grey polish called My Turn. First off I love matte polish, I think I have mentioned that a time or two. And I love grey polish, especially when paired with an accent color or funky top coat.
So to jazz up My Turn I added my new Orly matte flakie FX topcoat on my ring and index fingers. I got this from Sallys a week or so ago. It is the green flakie, no name topcoat. I love this flakie matte look over My Turn. It really adds a little something something.
Do you love the matte polish look as much as I do?
Have a great rest of the week. I am sure you will hear from me again in the next few days :). I can’t help it I am addicted to polish 💋

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Ps I got these done Monday night so for the first shot I had to photograph in my homemade light box. The second and third shot was outside today after work.
I better get used to my light box again short days and long nights are coming.

Hi fellow polish lovers!!
Here in Iowa we are getting closer to the first day of fall and boy does it feel like it today. I sure am going to miss the long days and nights of summer. Tonight’s mani really could have benefited from the summer sun to show the magnificent-ness of this copper Finger Paints glitter polish (yes I totally just made up that word, lol).
I started with Julep Sally. Sally is a pale yellow hue. Sally went on great, not streaky at all and only required two coats. On my ring finger I used China Glaze VIII for an accent color. VIII is a dark purple, nearly black. Then on all my Sally nails I added the purple polish to the tips to create a funky French mani.
I was going to quit there but it just seemed unfinished.
So I pulled out the big guns…Finger Paints Fall of Surprises!. I picked
Fall of Surprises! up last year from Sally’s beauty supply. It’s a lovely multi size copper glitter polish. I added this glitter to the accent nail and on my purple tips. And just because I am obsessed with Out the Door hologram topcoat I added that over the copper glitter for an extra WoW. I cannot wait to see these nails in the sun!!
Are you guys ready for the next season. I am but I am not 😉

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Owl-lo
With this last mani I had some fun with multiple colors and Pueen stamping plates.
My base colors are as follows:
Index and ring: China Glaze Angel’s Breath. A pretty nude pink polish.
Thumb and middle: Sally Hansen insta-dri Slick Slate. This quick dry polish is a brown taupe color. Reminds me of the color of a mushroom. Loving the fact that it dries fast, a great base for stamping.
Pinky finger: Julep polish Jill. This is a lighter shade of Slick Slate. It has a sea salt finish that dries textured and matte. Love this color and the texture matte finish.
Stamping plates I used are Pueen Plates 38 and 40, the bottom middle images from both plates.
On index and ring fingers I stamped on the owl image using China Glaze Below Deck.
On the middle and thumb I used the flower image with Orly polish Prelude to a kiss.
On my pinky I used a flower from the same image on just the tip of the nail. I wasn’t sure if I could get the stamp to go on the sea salt finish polish but I think it turned out great. Plus this was my first time trying to use a partial stamping image…defiantly not for beginners. I guess I was feeling brave!!
I am loving these stamping images, so cute and fun. I also like the light neutral colors, it has been awhile.
I hope you guys have a fantastic week.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤
