Nail Diary #372

Hey polish lovers!

I have another Vday mani to share with you this time.  When you see it you will say Ooh Lala 🙂

First I started with Zoya Brittany on all my nails.  Brittany is a rose mauve creame color which if you apply no top coat it dries in a Satin finish.  The satin finish is a semi matte look, which is very pretty but you won’t see that satin look in my final pics because I added a top coat after I did my stamping.  I picked Brittany because I wanted a softer pink nude base so my lip smacking stamping would really pop.

For my stamping I used Bundle Monster plate 303 and XL 153.  My stamping polish is China Glaze Dune Our Thing which is a bright berry pink.  It stamped really well.  Also used my go to Konad black.

On my littlest nail and ring finger I just did one lip smack.  On the other three nails I did the multi lip smack.  And for fun on the middle and thumbs I added Ooh Lala image in black.

I really ❤ love ❤ how this mani turned out.  Super cute for a Valentine themed look.

Happy polishing!  Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

YAY!! TGIAF, whew what a long week!!  I will be once again hibernating this weekend, temps in the single digits tend to keep me inside painting my nails and streaming movies.  First I must apologize, twice.  1) I feel bad for anyone I left hanging after reading my last diary entry; or maybe no one noticed because they just come for the pictures 🙂   Anyway I made a huge PS telling you about Julep Hartleigh and I got too busy to share her with you before the big V day.  I was going to just skip sharing her because I missed that wagon but how could I when I made such a fuss.  2) So that brings us to my second apology: sorry to anyone that is sick of looking at Valentine manicures because I am going to do it, I am going to show you my Julep Hartleigh mani.  Plus it really turned out pretty so I have to share.

This is a 3:2 manicure.

On my thumb, index and pinky I used a SquareHue “I feel pretty in pink polish” called Kewpies.  This girlie pastel pink is from the Feb 2015 1910 Decades Collection.

For my two the middle and ring fingers I used SquareHue holo silver called Times Square.  Times Square is one of my all time favorite Hue polishes from the 12.13 New York Passport Collection.

I must say I love the pink and silver combo.

For the grand finale I added Julep Hartleigh.  Hartleigh is a bit of a high maintenance B.  She required a lot of my time and patience which is running thin thanks to a certain 4 month old puppy terrorist.  Hartleigh is packed full of red heart glitter multi size white hex glitters and some holo glitter business.  The holo glitter totally made the tedious heart placement worth my time but sigh…it took a lot of time to try and dab those hearts in the perfect spot.  And my nails are super curved so some of the hearts didn’t lay flat, causing a weird not smooth finish on the nail.  But even then I still thought Hartleigh was really lovely and thanks to Julep for giving her to me free.  If it wasn’t for that free polish I would have skipped Feb Maven box, so brilliant of Julep, keep throwing me that worm.

Well there you have it my final Valentine themed mani for Feb 2015, promise.

Happy polishing!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Happy almost Friday!  It’s going to be another cold weekend here in Iowa, blah yuck.  Is it me or are you guys super sick of winter. I do realize it could be worse, we haven’t had much in the way of snow just a lot of bitter cold days.  I seriously cannot wait for spring. Ok enough day dreaming for me. On to the nails…

This is another 3:2 Valentine love manicure, it’s magical.

First I started by painting all my nails pink using Julep Paulette.   This color is so pretty and pink.  And it has a beautiful gold shimmer finish which I love.  I am surprised I haven’t tried this color before now, she has been just sitting on Julep shelf waiting for me to play with her.

Juleps

For my three:  I had a purple/pink magical Pixie Dust that I have been dying to use so on my thumbs, index and pinky I added Zoya Arlo.   This Pixie Dust really does look magical; especially in the sunlight.  The little bits of holo glitter make me smile.  I did use my seche vite top coat to even out the matte texture of the glitter and to give it a glass like shine.

For my two: my ring and middle fingers using a darker shade of pink Zoya Demi, I stamped on a cute love and heart image from Pueen plate 43.

I really love how all these shades of purple/pinks came together to make a super cute Valentine manicure. ❤

P.S.  I can’t wait to show you my next creation it involves Julep Hartleigh a freebie from Julep if you took the Feb Maven box.  Hartleigh is so beautiful, if you got it use it right away it will be perfect for this weekend.

Hope you have a great start to your week.

Happy polishing!

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

It is finally V-day week.  I am so behind on sharing these with you guys, I actually did this manicure last week.  It’s another UnTraditional Valentine look.
I call these my dark Valentine nails.
This is a 3:2 look.
Three nails are stamped and two nails are covered in hot red Pixie Dust.
Here is what I did to achieve this dark Valentine look.
For my three: the index, middle and ring fingers I used a sexy matte velvet Zoya red polish called Posh.
This red is absolutely gorgeous.  I loved it all on its own but I had a plan in my head that I just had to try.  Using my Bundle Monster BM-323 stamping plate I added some black roses with SquareHue Via Montenapoleone.  This is also a matte black polish, stamped on just perfect.  I love the way these black roses look stamped over the deep deep sexy red.  To seal the stamping I did use my Zoya matte velvet top coat ❤️ one of my all time favorite matte top coats.
For my two: the pinky and thumbs I used a Zoya ultra Pixie Dust called Oswin. It’s a super chunky red textured glitter that dries matte. I did not add a top coat. This ultra pixie dust red is to die for….
So what do you think of my super UnTraditional VDay mani?  I think its ultra sexy and mysterious.  I really love it, but I know that kind of look is not for everybody.

Hope you have a great start to your week.
I will have a couple more heart love themed manicures to share with you.  I hope you aren’t tired of looking at them…I know I am having fun creating these lovely looks.

Happy polishing!

Nail Diary #321

February 3, 2015

Hello I am continuing with my Valentine theme nails.  I hope you love them as much as I do.

Love is in the air with this manicure because I am head over heels in love with Zoya Demi.  When looking at Demi in the bottle it is meh; but once I added it to the nail I swooned.  Demi is a beautiful shade medium purple,  but the color with my skin tone is to die!  I know purple is not traditionally a “Valentine” color but stay with me to see how I made it work.  Somehow I knew right away Demi had to be paired with China Glaze glitter polish Put a bow on it.  Put a bow on it is a fuchsia/purple glitter that really looks perfect with Zoya’s Demi.

Here is how I created this not so traditional Valentine manicure:

On all my nails but my middle finger I used Zoya Demi.  Then on my pinky and thumb I added “my glitz” CG Put a bow on it.  I love how the Demi base made this glitter pop!!

On my middle finger I knew I wanted to do an accent nail.  What better than hearts on the middle finger, right!  So I did a white base using Julep Kate.  Kate is a pearl white frost, a perfect clean base for my stamping.  Over Kate I stamped on some lovely hearts from the Bundle Monster plate BM-620 using Demi.  I Love this multi size heart image.  The purple hearts over the white is amazing.  Then I got all mattey and put Zoya matte top coat over just the white heart nail.

What do you think?  I happen to LOVE them.  I love the purple, the glitter and the stamped accent nail.  What is not to love about this combo ❤

Happy polishing!

Happy almost Friday!!  Wow I can’t believe it is almost February already.  Time flies!

I guess I am sticking to the Valentine theme for the next few weeks.  I can’t get enough of hearts, love and kisses.

Ooh la la I have some super kissable tips to share with you.

I did a skittle mani this time; meaning total randomness on every nail.  I absolutely love skittles and typically when I do them it is because I am indecisive that day, haha.

Here is what I did on each nail:

On my thumb: Zoya pixie dust Arabella.  Arabella is the perfect shade of berry pink, love it.  I stamped on a lip image from Bundle Monster plate BM-303 using Square Hue Gibson Girl.  I love the contrast of these pinks together ♥.

Index Finger: Started with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nude Sand Storm, a perfect base for a shimmery pink top coat China Glaze Temptation Carnation (an oldie but goodie).  Then I stamped on some more lips using a Zoya holographic polish called Blaze. Oh so pretty.  Blaze stamped on like a dream.

Middle finger:  I used the same color combo as my index just stamped on single lip image instead.

Ring Finger:  Again started with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nude Sand Storm, a perfect base for Julep Love.  Love was from last years Feb Maven box.  It is a perfect topper all gold and pink pearly with hot pink micro glitters.  Then using Blaze again I stamped on a different lips kiss image from BM-H17.

Last but not least my little pinky nail:  On this nail I kept it sweet and simple using Zoya Arabella with a clear top coat.

What do you think of my kiss kiss nails.  I happen to LOVE them.

Happy polishing!
