Nail Diary #102

Heylo!! tGiAf, super excited for the upcoming weekend.
I used my nails as a canvas to show my excitement.
They are super sparkly and all glammed up.
Started with my Wet n Wild Fergie polish Going platinum . I don’t know what I was expecting but this polish blew me out of the water. It’s a silver polish with gold micro specs. Oooo ahhhhhh is all I can say, ❤ing it. My only complaint- the brush is super wide I have a small nail bed so painting my nails was a little challenging. But so worth the challenge.
To GLAM these babies up EVeN more I added a black tip with my Sinful Colors Black on Black. Once that dried I added more glitter over the black tip, I would say I covered about half the nail with Nina Ultra Pro Silver Slipper a silver glitter. Once that dried I used my Finger Paints black stripper on the very tip Ch-Art-Coal Black. Can’t wait to see this mani in the sun tomorrow!!
Have you tried Fergie polish…I have three bottles and love them all, just wish I would have picked up a few more from the collection.
Have a fab Friday and a great weekend.

Stay tuned for the next installment of the diary of a nail polish addict.

I am being lazy tonight…
My mani from Thursday Sinful Colors FiG still looks presentable. I touched it up on Saturday because I had a little tip wear but they are still looking pretty good. Good enough to get me through another day. Not bad for a two dollar polish.
So a quick way to jazz up a tired mani is add a little glitter or a stamp.
I picked stamping tonight. Used my BM-211 plate. Not sure how to describe this stamp, it’s like a decorative splat. 😉
Decided a grey polish wld look really pretty on Fig. Picked an untried Julep polish Stefani. In the bottle Stefani is a pretty grey with gold micro flecks. But because it is fall in Iowa it is too late to look at this polish in the sun…but in my light box I cannot see the gold glitter flecks. Perhaps Stefani just needs more coats for the gold to show up…so I will definitely try this one on its own soon.
My stamping is getting better…guess what they say practice makes perfect is true.

My 100th diary entry 🙂 how exciting!! I have been blogging my NOTD for nearly a year.
Tonight’s color is just lovely. I absolutely love it.
It’s Sinful Colors FiG
A gorge magenta with a pinkish shimmer in just the right light.
I only needed 2 coats and it went on flawlessly.
If u don’t have this beauty yet you definitely need to pick it up for fall nails.

Try it Tuesday
Still loving Sunday nights teal polish Sinful Colors Kissy. So I thought I would get rid of tip wear and add some glam all at the same time.
I love the way glitter looks on just part of the nail, adds just the right amount of glam to plain mani.
The glitter I picked is Sinful Colors All about you one of my many untrieds. I thought the gold micro glitters would add just the right amount of glam without taking away from the look of Kissy. All about you is a fun micro gold glitter with a lil bit of red micro glitter as well. It almost has a coppery look in some lighting.
I have to say … I ❤ it!!
Now I will be able to get a few more days of wear out of Kissy!
I was just thinking tonight as I quickly ran out of sunlight to photograph in…I am so not ready for winter in a few months. I know its barely fall but still…I miss summer already!

Nail Diary #98

Monday September 17, 2012
Hello another Monday funday….at least that is what I keep telling myself :p
I did my these last night…I guess I was too busy relaxing to blog about them 😉
Decided I wanted to use an untried Sinful Colors Kissy. This is a real pretty teal with a shimmer that is almost gold/green. Since I noticed that Kissy was a jelly I did use a gold base coat Sally Hansen Golden-I. This just gave me a real good base and eliminated the need for for several coats of Kissy.
I really like this polish…although I think I’d like more for a toe polish. The color actually reminds me of peacock feathers. Plus teal is my favorite color!!
If I don’t take this polish off tomorrow it will definitely need a stamp or something.
Hope you guys had a great start to the week.

Stay tuned for the next installment of the diary of a nail polish addict.

This is a good shot in the sun through the window…really shows off the shimmer in the bottle

Hey all! TGIAF
I did this mani a couple days ago it has taken me a couple days to post about it because I was trying to find the original blog that I saw this style on…
I have a ton of emails on blogs that I follow and I cannot find where I saw this or who did it so if it is was yours I’m sorry that I did not link to it.
When I originally saw this style i think it was called an acid wash manicure. I was in awe…it was so cool looking but yet so simple to do!!
I already had on Sinful Colors Slate a gorge grey polish. I decided to use Sally Hansen xtreme polish Celeb City a metallic silver to acid wash it…
I just applied a layer of celeb city over slate and let that dry. Then I used a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover and gently rubbed off parts of the lighter color to show the darker color underneath… giving it the acid wash look.
IMO the original blog I saw this manicure on was way better…kicking myself for not finding it.
I think where I went wrong was using a metallic…it just didn’t look as worn as I hoped. But I have gotten quite a few compliments on this look, so maybe I am just too critical.

So just remember to achieve this look…dark on the bottom let it dry then I would even do a clear top coat…then a lighter color on the top and Qtip it off to get that worn look. I will def try this one again.
Are you all ready for the weekend?? I know I am 🙂

Stay tuned for the next installment of the diary of a nail polish addict.
