Nail Diary #260

April 14, 2014
April showers bring May flowers. Or should I say snow showers in Iowa. Lucky for us it didn’t stick. All these snow showers can really bring a girl down but good thing I have a touch of spring on my fingertips today!!
Saturday I was cruising around You Tube and came across an intriguing tutorial made by Messy Mansion called the leadlight technique, I knew right away I just had to try it. I had no idea what leadlight was until I saw this video, your nails literally look like stain glass.
First start with light undies. I picked Sally Hansen insta-dri Petal Pusher. This is a perfect neutral base color that dries quickly.
Then using my Konad black polish I stamped on the bottom middle image from Pueen plate 49.
Once that dried I added a clear topcoat. Then I started adding my jellies.
Jelly polish is the key to this style. I picked the following four pretty spring jelly polishes.
Light pink with light sparkle Nicole You’re an angel
Julep dark pink magenta also with glitter Monica
Claire’s (ColorClub) Starstruck shimmery orange Little Dipper
And last but not least a shimmery summer yellow Loreal tweet me
I just took my smallest detail paint brush and filled in the stamp with the colors.
This is not a true flower image stamp but once I added the jellies it looks very flowery.
I think for my first try this turned out pretty cute. I can’t wait to try it with another stamp image in the future.

Warning this mani is OvEr ThE ToP!! It looked so cool in my head.
I wasn’t going to post it BuT…it’s 🍀🍀 St Patty’s weekend and this holiday is all about OvEr ThE ToP!!
So here are my Somewhere over the rainbow there’s a pot of GOLD nails. 😉
Thumb, ring and middle fingers are my rainbow.
I used makeup applicators and a dotting tool to apply my polish.
Colors used:
Red- Sally Hansen Red Carpet
Orange- Claire’s Little Dipper
Yellow- Sally Hansen Sunny Side
Green- China Glaze Running in Circles
Blue- Sinful Colors Ciao Bella
No room for purple…
On my ring finger I just had to try Julep’s Lucky.
My pinky is my gold, Julep’s Vivien. My daughter convinced me I needed a pot so I added a black tip to my pinky.
I know it’s too much but hey it is kinda fun.

Thanks for stopping by!! ❤❤

Nail Diary #88

Thursday August 9, 2012

Tonight’s nails are done with a polish I found at Claire’s a few weeks ago.
It’s devine, i love it!
So it’s a color changing polish…a MOOD polish.
Hyper n Relaxed!! Relaxed is a gorg teal blue. Hyper is supposed to be purple. But I think it just turns a darker teal. I am wondering if it will get more purple when my hands get really cold…we will see at work tomorrow, it’s like a freezer in my office.
Ok so I pretty much wrote this polish off before I started. When I think of mood polish i think of a kid polish. But WOW was I wrong. It really only needed 2 coats but I did 3. It dries matte but I added my SV fast dry. The color alone is gorg…I don’t even care if it doesn’t drastically change color…
What a pleasant surprise!!
Have u tried a MOoD polish?

Thanks for reading.

Nail Diary #85

Sunday July 29 2012 (slash Monday, lol)
I tried a new polish last night, but I couldn’t blog it because I needed the sun to photograph this beauty. It’s a Claire’s starstruck polish called cosmic. My first time trying this brand. This polish is gorg in the sunlight. It’s a metallic like purple with shimmers of blue and magenta micro glitters. I must say this polish needs extra care during application. It could get really globby if not applied quickly, on the bright side it dried really fast.
This is a fun summer color…I think it would be really fun on the toes at the pool. ☀💅
This is it in the sun today:

This is it in natural light last night:

Ps tonight is my first night of this crazy 60 day fitness program called insanity
It looks very intimidating so I hope I survive the first week and still have time to paint n blog about my nails. Wish me luck!!🍀🍀💪💪

Thanks for reading.
