Nail Diary #406

September 29, 2016

I don’t often get that excited about my nail art.  But this turned out so perfect; I am in love!  I bet you FALL in love also ❤

Started with a retro OPI polish called DS GLOW, Glow is a golden brown almost copper foil like polish.  It is a perfect back drop for some fall stamping.

Last week I splurged an ordered a couple Pueen stamping plates so I was super excited to try one out.  Using Pueen Nature Lover plate 01 I stamped on some autumn leaves using Konad black stamping polish.  This alone was really pretty but a while back I picked up some Wet n Wild jelly (Candy gloss nail tint) polish from Walgreens so I though why not give the lead light technique a try, jellies are perfect for this type of manicure.  Wet n Wild jellies are Floral Support the red and One Grape or Another is the purple.  I didn’t have a green Wet n Wild jelly so I used my Zoya Frida for a teal green leaf.  I just used my dotting tool and filled in the leaves with the jelly polish.  The jelly polish is a tint so it dries perfect within the lines of the stamp.

Ooooh em geeeeeee forgive me but I LOVE how these turned out.

I did not get a proper pic in the sun; but it is just absolutely gorge in the sunlight.  Glow shimmers under the jellies ❤

Nail Diary #334

April 6, 2015

Hello Monday.  Where did the weekend go?  I got so busy that I did not a chance to share my Easter manicure with you.  I am very “egg”cited to share them with you now; better late than never.

My sister recently got baby chicks to raise for fresh eggs, they are stinking cute.  So I thought how perfect to put some cute little chicks on my nails for Easter.  I got so many “Oh how cute” comments on this mani; I love the extra mani attention 🙂

I started with all white nails, using my Sally Hansen insta-dri white OMGhost.  I decided to put chicks on all fingers but my thumbs.  Once I decided what chicks I wanted where, I added my chevron nail vinyls stickers to give the look of a cracked egg shell.  My chickie yellow is a Bundle Monster creative art polish called no 15.  I just added this sunflower yellow wherever I wanted a little chick.  Once dry I used a black polish and a dotting tool for the eyes and the beak is a Bundle Monster Bundle Monster creative art polish called no 12.

On my thumb I did a hand-painted easter bun bun.  My first one ever; tricky but not so hard.  First I did put on a Sinful Colors BloomBlast glitter over my white called Flower Power.  The magenta pink and white glitters are in a light pink jelly polish, it reminded me of speckled Easter egg candies. Once that dried I added my bunny head and ears using a dotting tool mostly and white polish.  I added a cute face and even a heart nose using my black polish and a dotting tool.  And of course some pink in the ears, using China Glaze Hang-ten toes.

I really love how these turned out.  The nail vinyl stickers made this manicure very easy, it even looks like a pro did them I must say the bunny nose is my favorite part ❤

Hope you guys have a great week!! 🙂

Happy polishing!

Nail Diary #314

December 19th, 2014

TGIF!  I have some good news and some bad news.  I will give you the bad news first… In 2015 Zoya is doing away with Pixie Dust nail polish, naaaaaaaaoooooooooooooo!!!  I freaking love Pixie Dust.  This is so sad.  But thankfully they are doing a BOGO Pixie Dust sale until Sunday.  I will be picking up the few colors I don’t have and stocking up on my all time favorite colors.  If you need the BOGO code all you have to do is ask in the comments or check Zoya IG or FB page.  So that is the bad news.

The good news is really just good for me but I am dying to share.  I am expecting an addition to the family.  We decided to get a Christmas puppy.

Baby Jax, Yorkie

Baby Jax

Right now we have 2 spoiled cats so come Christmas they are in for a big surprise.  We have had a sad void in the family for a few years now since I recently lost both my parents.  I am super excited for this little puppy to bring some joy back in our lives.  We could not be more excited.  Not to mention he is so stinking cute, hello yorkie cuteness.

On to the nails:  Seems fitting my manicure tonight is using Pixie Dust.  Actually three of my all time favorite Pixie Dust colors.  These are just perfect colors for the holidays.  On my pinky and index fingers I used Zoya PD Chita an amazing matte glitter dark Christmas tree green.  My thumb and middle fingers are Zoya PD Chyna.  This is a sexy matte red glitter, it screams the holidays.  On my ring finger I did a white base and then using my dotting tool I made a Christmas tree with both Chita and Chyna and for my star I used Zoya PD Tomoko.  I absolutely love how these turned out.  I have been wearing this polish since Monday WITH NO TOP COAT and so far no CHIPS.  WHY ZOYA WHY?????  RIP Pixie Dusts I will sure miss you.

I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.  I will be counting the days until my new little baby comes home.  This Christmas is about to get a whole lot merrier, yay!!

Happy polishing!

Nail Diary #258

April 7, 2014
I had polish block last night, does that ever happen to you?
I think I have too many colors to choose from and it overwhelms me sometimes; polish addict problems ;).
But I finally settled on a cute spring/Easter manicure.
To get this spring look I did a 3:2 manicure using six different polish colors total.
My ring, middle and thumbs are Orly Dayglow white. This made a good base for some stamping and random nail art, including a chick stamp using BM-H09 on my middle and ring fingers. For the stamp I used SquareHue Kalver Straat from the 04.14 Amsterdam passport collection. What a fun bright pink/coral. For the grass I used a SquareHue neon lime green called Beethoven Straat from that same 04.14 collection and also China Glaze Starboard a little darker green. The little chick looks so cute sitting in the grass. On my thumbs I did a little Easter egg art by hand.
On my pinky and index fingers I used my new spring Zoya pale pink Dot. How fitting that I added dots over Dot. For my dots I used the white and coral from above plus Zoya Hudson a pretty spring shimmery purple frost also from the 2014 spring collection.
I think this mani turned out cute, it’s not my favorite but I thought I would still share it with you guys.

PS….Has anyone used the bunny ears from BM-h09. I’d love to see your creation if you have!!

hope you all have a great week.

Nail Diary #159

Monday April 8, 2013
Here is a fun flowery mani.
I couldn’t decide on a color so I got out my dotting tool and used a few.
From the SquareHue bloom 0312 collection I did all my nails in Groovy Love, a gorg lavender creme. I love GL it’s a beautiful shade of purple. It makes me long for the smell of lilacs, one of my fav. flowers.
Then I choose the following for a flower on my ring finger…
The petals are China Glaze Mimosa’s before Mani’s and Sinful Colors Timbleberry. Center of flower is also a 🔲Hue color from the bloom collection Yellow Submarine. Yellow Submarine is very pretty, can’t to use more of this one. The stem of my flower is another China Glaze polish Def Defying.
This is not my best work or my fav creation but pretty none the less.
Hope you all have a great week filled with happy polishing.

I know these are so cheesy but oh soooooo cute. 🙂
This is the YouTube video that inspired me:
Easter Inspiration
I changed up the color slightly. Instead of purple I did Tiffany blue, China Glaze For Audrey on all my nails but my ring finger.
On my ring finger I used Julep Daisy. This is an in your face sunshine yellow, perfect for my lil chick.
I also used Daisy for my dots. I used a med. and small dotting tool.
I am kind of bummed, although I did do layers of my white Sally Hansen White on about three for my chick’s shell…my yellow still bled through.
For my chick’s face I used my dotting tool along with Julep Sasha for the tiny triangle nose.
Then I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for the lil eyes.
So adorable.
